ANNOUNCEMENT: Jo Davies steps down from her position as Artistic Director of Opera Australia.
This mutually agreed decision follows differences of opinion about how Opera Australia should successfully balance artistic innovation, audience development and commercial imperatives moving forward.
During this period of transition while the company's future artistic leadership is settled, our highly experienced management and artistic teams will continue to realise our ambitions.
We thank Jo for her significant contribution to the artistic future of Opera Australia and acknowledge the success of her 2024 season to date.
Our 2025 season, which we will announce on Tuesday 17 September, is an exciting one and demonstrates Jo's unwavering commitment to ensuring the relevance of our artform for today's audiences.
