This play is a funny French farce complete with 5 doors. It will be a knee slapping end to the year after two mystery/whodunnits.
The characters are:
Bernard: 30-55 a bit of a schemer.
Jacqueline: 30-55 his wife
Robert: 30-55 Bernard's best friend and Jacqueline's lover. Tries to please all but caught in the middle
Suzanne: 20-45 Bernard's girlfriend. Described as a model
Suzette: 25-50 The hired cook. Needs to look entirely different to Suzanne
George: 25-55 Suzette's husband. Described as “big” . A smaller part, doesn't come on till Act 2.

Well.. suppose Robert turns up not realizing quite why he has been invited. Suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, and consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend. Suppose the cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress is unable to cook. Suppose everyone's alibi gets confused with everyone else's. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed.
Don't Dress for Dinner is a comedic play written by French playwright Marc Camoletti. The play features a cast of colorful characters, including Robert, a friend of Bernard's who is also secretly having an affair with Jacqueline, and Suzette, a cook who becomes embroiled in the chaos. With fast-paced dialogue, witty banter, and plenty of mistaken identities and plot twists, Don't Dress for Dinner is a comedic romp that will keep audiences guessing until the very end.
