Wyong Writes # 1

Wyong Writes is a celebration of local stories and homegrown talent, presented by Red Tree Theatre and Wyong Drama Group. This weekend of theatre shines a spotlight on Central Coast playwrights, with a special focus on the award-winning work of Sally Bartley. Audiences will be treated to two of her acclaimed one-act plays: Walk A Mile, directed by Ron Baker, a finalist in Scene Theatre Sydney's Sage to Stage Festival, and One Crowded Hour, directed by Sancia West and winner of Best Ensemble at the 2023 Port Macquarie One Act Play Festival.

With a string of accolades from festivals across Norfolk Island, Way Way Little Theatre, Short & Sweet, and the Central Coast Theatre Festival—where her play It's Complicated swept the major awards—Sally Bartley is a true gem of the local playwriting scene. Alex and Fiona are hosting dinner with their friends Ray and Fiona. Sophia is getting hot flashes and is really not fond of the younger Fiona. Alex can't seem to put a step right. When the guests arrive, the arguments begin, and it looks as though the women will never find common ground.
