CIMAFUNK
Prepare to groove when Afro-Cuban sensation Cimafunk hits the ‘ground. Subverting conventional sounds with rhythmic innovation, he was Grammy nominated for his 2021 album, El Alimento, which featured appearances from Lupe Fiasco, CeeLo Green and funk godfather George Clinton on the undeniable “Funk Aspirin”.
One of the most exciting stars in the Latin music space, Cimafunk offers a bold mix of funk and Cuban rhythms, infused with styles from Africa and the US. Onstage in Sydney with his band of Havana all-stars, experience “the James Brown of Cuba” at the peak of his powers.
THE TESKEY BROTHERS
When Melbourne siblings Josh and Sam Teskey formed their rock'n'roll band in 2008, they could scarcely have imagined the success to follow. 15 years, multiple ARIA awards and a string of chart-topping albums later, The Teskey Brothers are among Australia's most beloved acts. 2020's legendary Live at the Forum became the first live record to debut at number one in almost 30 years, while 2023 brought the release of the brothers' third album smash, The Winding Way, which finds them connecting with the essence of their vintage soul sound. With an impossibly tight crowd-pleaser combination of Muscle Shoals soul, boogie-woogie and classic pub rock, The Teskey Brothers deliver no-frills, all-feelings music that creates big festival moments, and beautiful summer memories.
THE BRAND NEW HEAVIES WITH SYDNEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Pioneers of London's burgeoning acid jazz scene of the early 90s, The Brand New Heavies took their love of sophisticated 70s funk grooves and gave it a modern twist, enjoying global success and a legacy spanning decades, with hits "Never Stop", "Dream on Dreamer", "Midnight at the Oasis" and more. Celebrating 35 years since the release of their debut single, the formidable live band will be joined by the stunning Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Let's play.
