Presented by Abstract Touring
Belinda Carlisle returns to Australia with her ‘Decades' tour, which celebrates 35 years of her solo career.
Belinda Carlisle is a singer and songwriter who rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the Go-Go's, one of the most successful all-female bands of the 1980s. The Go-Go's formed in 1978 and released their debut album, "Beauty and the Beat," in 1981, which featured hit songs like "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "We Got the Beat." The album was a commercial success and helped to establish the band as pioneers of the new wave and punk-inflected pop music.
After the Go-Go's disbanded in 1985, Carlisle began a successful solo career. Her first solo album, "Belinda," was released in 1986 and featured the hit single "Mad About You," which reached the top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She followed up with the album "Heaven on Earth" in 1987, which featured the hit single "Heaven Is a Place on Earth," which topped the charts in several countries and became her biggest hit.
Throughout the late 80s and early 90s, Carlisle released a series of successful albums and singles, that include songs like "I Get Weak" and "Circle in the Sand", as well as "Leave a Light On", which reached the top 10 in several countries.
Carlisle has sold over 30 million records worldwide and continues to tour and perform. She has also been involved in several charitable causes, including animal rights and environmental issues. She is considered one of the most successful female pop singers of the 1980s and continues to be a popular and influential figure in the music industry.
