Gosford Musical Society Presents First Premier Show for 2020 Following an incredibly successful season in 2019 with South Pacific, Strictly Ballroom, Les Miserables Madagascar and Aida, Gosford Musical Society is back in production these January Holidays with the Disney Classic, Alice in Wonderland. Lewis Carrolls famous heroine comes to life in a delightful adaptation of the classic Disney film. Traveling down the rabbit hole with one of literatures most beloved heroines, Alice, in her madcap, fast-paced adventures, this production features updated songs from Disneys thrilling animated motion picture.

Produced by Gosford Musical Society, now in its 73rd year, and directed by Rosie Ross, the ever-curious Alices journey begins innocently enough as she chases the White Rabbit. But her adventures become increasingly curious and strange as she races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game. Roles are plentiful, including three Cheshire Cats and dozens of other wonderfully wacky characters, providing plentiful opportunities to showcase students of all different musical skill levels.

A chorus of kids playing in the park, rock lobsters, talking fish, royal cardsmen, unbirthday partiers, as well as a group of mean-girl flowers, allows for a highly expandable cast size. From the hundreds who auditioned to appear in this show, this production features the absolute best young talent on the Central Coast and kicks off a hit 2020 musical theatre season including Mamma Mia, 42nd Street and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Disneys Alice in Wonderland Jr is on-stage at Laycock Street Theatre, Gosford from 13th to 18th January with 2 shows per day.
