BRISTOL OLD VIC TO STREAM THE GRINNING MAN MUSICAL FOR FREE:. Bristol Old Vic theatre company will stream The Grinning Man as part of its slate of new digital programming. Critically acclaimed, this comically dark musical premiered in 2016 as part of their 250th Anniversary season.

Based on Victor Hugos classic novel The Man Who Laughs this magical reimagining. This magical reimagining of Victor Hugos classic novel The Man Who Laughs is brought to life with visually stunning puppetry by the original War Horse puppeteers, an outstanding score (Sunday Times) by Tim Philips and Marc Teitler and direction by Tony Award winner Tom Morris. Set in a fantastical world, The Grinning Man is an epic tale of an abandoned child with a terrible secret.

A disfigured youth who is desperate to hide and a sightless girl who longs to be discovered. The six week digital programme launches on 29 May with the Companys 2017 stage production of Messiah (until 5 June), an acclaimed dramatisation of Handels profound masterpiece, followed by Sally Cooksons Olivier Award-winning production of A Monster Calls (5 -12 June) followed by The Grinning Man (26 June 3 July). Each production will preview on Friday evenings at 7pm and will be available through Bristol Old Vics website free of charge for a week.
