Jopukas New Dark Comedy Opens this Weekend at Red Tree Theatre A group of teen delinquents alone in a cabin in the woods. What could possibly go wrong? Youth arts vanguard Jopuka Productions bursts into winter with their second co-production of . Summer at Suspended Stone Camp by Madeleine Nunn is a dark adventure comedy that runs from 11 20 June at Red Tree Theatre.

The play portrays people-pleaser Claudia Thorogood who, through an unfortunate set of circumstances, is sent to Suspended Stone Camp, a place for Difficult, Disobedient and Different Teen Delinquents. Claudia and her fellow camp inmates are driven to a cabin in the bush, but soon find themselves abandoned with no way out. Fearing theyll die alone, they start hatching plans for survival and it doesnt take long for things to go from bad to worse to just plain creepy.

A family-friendly comedy horror, the play is written by Madelaine Nunn, an actor, writer, and theatre maker who has performed in and produced work for a variety of mediums, as well as being the recipient of the 2018 Rebel Wilson Theatre Maker Scholarship. Summer at Suspended Stone Camp is Winner of the 2020 Elderslee Foundation Commission, and is co-produced by new Central Coast Theatre, Red Tree Theatre. The projects aim was to create more youth arts works for young people of the Central Coast, and the show was selected by a national call out and a youth led selection process.
