Sounds of Musical Theatre

Local theatre productions are being either cancelled or postponed in the wake of the Delta strain of the Covid-19 outbreak. Gosford Musical Society announced Thursday afternoon they have reluctantly pulled the plug on the July/August production of MAMMA MIA. and Woy Woy Little Theatre has rescheduled SPIRIT LEVEL to the first offering next year.

Wyong Drama Group has rescheduled BIRTHRIGHTS to September 24 October 3 but no announcement has been forthcoming from Wyong Musical Theatre Company about THE ADDAMS FAMILY, scheduled to open at the Grove at Wyong on August 13 or WE WILL ROCK YOU, scheduled for September. Sydney and Newcastle theatres are dark once more and local theatres (The Art House, Laycock Street Theatre and the Red Tree Theatre) are all frantically trying to reschedule productions that wont go ahead before the end of July because of the State Governments lockdown directives. However, it seems very likely the lockdown will be extended into August.

Furthers details as they come to hand. Stay safe get vaccinated ASAP.
